Ownness [eigenheit] includes in itself everything own... But ownness has not any alien standard either, as it is not in any sense an idea like freedom, morality, humanity, and the like. It is only a description of the - owner.

What a nice place to live! Summer looks beatiful and winters looks like a wonderland.
Thanks for stopping by and leaving the comment! I hope you're a regular (or will become one).
Yes, it is quite nice. Among the things I love about it:
- I'm 10 minutes from where I work
- It actually doesn't snow all that often, and when it does, like this weekend, it doesn't tend to stick around for too long.
- I don't feel apprehensive about letting my cats go outside (though the fact that they bring back all sorts of stuff - often still quite alive - is kind of annoying)
- My landlord is a very friendly man
- In the summer, in the evenings, the yard is filled with fireflies
I am so jealous. Seriously.
This is a different anon than anon#1, btw.
Well, hello, anon #2! Thank you for stopping by, as well.
Perhaps these annoying aspects of my apartment will temper your jealousy:
- It is a basement in a home, meaning the walls are thin and I hear every footfall on the floor above me. Since the owner is a cab driver, those footfalls frequently occur at 4 to 5 a.m. Plus, the owner has a large-screen TV and a college-age son. For this non-football fan, the last two Redskins games were awful.
- Along with having all the typical home infrastructure (heater, laundry) there is also a water softener down here, which runs (meaning makes a loud whooshing noise, like water forced through sand at high pressure) at 4:30 every morning.
- Because of the above two items, I find myself sleeping with earplugs at night and even wearing them and/or listening to music on headphones a significant portion of the day.
- Being a basement, there is no kitchen to speak of, just a sink and a small refrigerator (and a microwave and toaster oven that I had to purchase myself). I was never much of a cook anyway, so I've learned to adapt to this.
Does that help?
Anon 2 (and 3) here... I'm not jealous so much about your living conditions. Rather I am jealous that you live someplace with real, honest to goodness seasons. And beautiful ones at that.
Great Pics!!
